Piraeus Bank supports the work and mission of the Free Clinics

At the moment, there are people who need medical treatment.
We can help them.

For every purchase, €1 to the Free Clinics

For months November and December, with every purchase using your Piraeus Bank credit cards, the Bank offers €1 to the Free Clinics of the “Volunteer Doctors – Cyprus”. Thus, we all participate to this attempt of support and solidarity.

FREE CLINICS
General Information

The humanistic organisation “Volunteer Doctors – Cyprus” is mainly known for its action in every corner of the world, offering support to people who suffer due to wars, natural disasters, chronic poverty and diseases, by offering them medical treatment .

As a primary measure of facing the difficult financial situation hitting the Cypriot society, and its people, the Organisation offers free medical treatment to distressed citizens with the creation of the program Free Clinics in urban centres. These clinics are operated by volunteer doctors and nurses who selflessly work with passion for offering Free Medical services to people in need.

The clinics accept patients, who face problems of:

General Medicine
Pathology
Cardiology
Pediatrics

The following are entitled to come:

Unemployed
Low-paid
Pensioners

The clinics are provided with the necessary medical equipment such as cardiograph, pressure meter, saccharometer, oximeter,oxygen apparatus, defibrillator, tubing system, nebulizer as well as ultrasound system.

Continuous attempts are also made in order to secure sufficient medicine, which are provided to the patients for free.

Apart from the services provided at the clinics, a network of supportive services has also been created with the participation and support of:


• Doctors of other specialties such as surgeons, gynecologists, neurologists and others, who accept and give free advice to patients that are given referrals from the doctors on call at the Social Clinics.

• Biochemical laboratories that execute blood and urine examinations at minimal fees, which are undertaken by the program.

 • Radiological units that offer free simple radiographs, axial tomography and magnetic resonance tomography.

The person responsible for the creation and supervision of the program FreeClinics of the Organisation is Dr George Makriyiannis, member of the Board of Directors, who collaborates closely with the head doctors in every city:
