Appointed member of the Board of Piraeus Bank (Cyprus) Ltd in 2011. Mr. Solomides started his career at the Central Bank of Cyprus in the Department of Economic Research. In 1983 he moved to CISCO, the investment banking arm of the Bank of Cyprus Group. There he held the position of General Manager for the period 1988 to 2000. He was Deputy CEO of the finance company Euroinvestment & Finance for the next two years. Since 2002 he is serving on the Board of firms operating in banking, insurance, finance and investments, in Cyprus and internationally. He studied economics at the London School of Economics (LSE) and then followed postgraduate studies in Accounting and Finance at LSE and Business Administration at Berkeley, University of California. He also holds a degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of London.
